OTTAWA – The CIS Final 8 Men’s Basketball Championship, hosted by the Carleton Ravens, got underway at Scotiabank Place earlier today with four quarter-final matchups. Four teams remain in the hunt for the W.P. McGee Trophy, which will be presented to the national champion following Sunday’s final.

Quarter-final #1: No. 7 Lakehead 74 No. 2 Cape Breton 61
Quarter-final #2: No. 6 McGill 70 No. 3 Ottawa 82

Saturday’s semifinal games at 5:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. are single elimination matchups with the two winners advancing to Sunday afternoon’s championship game at 3:30 p.m. The consolation semifinal session takes place earlier on Saturday with games at noon and 2:15 p.m., while the lone Sunday session also features the fifth-place game at 11 a.m. and the bronze medal game at 1:15 p.m. Each of the three remaining sessions (seven games in total) will take place at Scotiabank Place.
