Richcraft Live at Canadian Tire Centre is pleased to announce that PBR (Professional Bull Riders), Canada’s elite Monster Energy Tour, presented locally by Circle K, will buck into Ottawa for one night of edge-of-your seat action on Saturday, May 12.

The Monster Energy Tour regularly features Canada’s elite, alongside some of the league’s top international athletes, squaring off against the toughest bucking bulls from both Canada and the United States. Fans will witness exhilarating 8-second rides and wrecks throughout the action-packed event as the PBR’s courageous riders face off against their 2,000-pound opponents.
This event will mark the return of PBR to Richcraft Live at Canadian Tire Centre, which was last held at the home of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators in 2012. That event, part of the Touring Pro Division, saw rider Matt Bohon emerge with the victory.
As part of the Monster Energy Tour, riders will be vying for an increased amount of world points. While Touring Pro Division events award the overall winner 60 points, the winner of this year’s event on the Monster Energy Tour will earn 120 points.
As part of the Monster Energy Tour, riders will also have the opportunity to earn added prize money, with the stop collectively awarding $20,000.
The action will begin at 7 p.m. as each rider attempts one bull in Round 1. The top 10 will then advance to the Championship Round for one more ride and a chance at the event title. In addition to competing for points towards the Canadian national standings, riders will also have the opportunity to earn world points in an effort to earn a berth onto the elite 25th PBR: Unleash The Beast.
The 2018 slate of events marks the third season of the Monster Energy Tour as a unified competitive series traveling across the country. The Ottawa event will be the second stop on the 2018 Monster Energy Tour schedule. The season overall will consist of seven events in seven provinces, and will feature stops in Calgary, Québec City, Halifax, Moncton, N.B. and Kelowna, B.C. It will conclude with the PBR Canada Finals in Saskatoon Nov. 23 to 24 when the 2018 PBR Canada Champion will be crowned.
