OTTAWA – The 2014 ArcelorMittal Dofasco CIS Final 8 Men’s Basketball Championship, hosted by theCarleton University Ravens, concluded today at Canadian Tire Centre with the bronze medal match and the championship game, which featured the top-seeded University of Ottawa Gee-Gees and the No. 2 Carleton Ravens. Over the course of the three-day tournament, 54,070 fans visited Canadian Tire Centre to witness the top basketball teams in Canada compete for the W.P. McGee Trophy.

With a 79-67 victory over the Ottawa Gee-Gees, the Carleton Ravens were crowned national champions – their fourth CIS title in as many years – and awarded the W.P. McGee Trophy. The Ravens were ranked No. 1 in the country throughout the season, before the Gee-Gees edged Carleton by one point in the OUA final, bringing an end to Carleton’s 55-game winning streak. The four times the Ravens have failed to capture the OUA crown since 2003 (2006, 2007, 2011 and 2014), they rebounded to capture the CIS title in the national championships. Today’s win marks the 10th CIS Final 8 title in Ravens  history.
