Alberta Golden Bears and Victoria Vikes will play for the bronze medal
OTTAWA – The 2014 ArcelorMittal Dofasco CIS Final 8 Men’s Basketball Championship, hosted by theCarleton University Ravens, continued today at Canadian Tire Centre with two consolation semifinal games and two semifinal matchups. The Carleton Ravens and the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees remain in the hunt for the W.P. McGee Trophy, which will be presented to the national champion following Sunday’s final.
Carleton, the reigning three-time CIS champions, find themselves in a familiar position as they look to capture their 10th CIS title. The Ottawa Gee-Gees, who were the top seed heading into the tournament, look to dethrone their neighbours as the top team in the nation’s capital and, more importantly, in the country for the first time in program history.

Semifinal #1: No. 3 Alberta 55, No. 2 Carleton 79
Semifinal #2: No. 4 Victoria 70, No. 1 Ottawa 78
The lone Sunday session begins at 10:30 a.m. with the bronze medal game, which features theUniversity of Victory Vikes and the University of Alberta Golden Bears. The championship game gets underway at 2 p.m.
