Sens Skills presented by Sport Chek returns to Canadian Tire Centre on Dec. 30
Event has raised more than $650,000 over the past seven years
The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today the return of the fan-friendly Sens Skills competition, presented by Sport Chek, which is set to take place at Canadian Tire Centre on Friday, Dec. 30, at 5:30 p.m.
Sens Skills, presented by Sport Chek, will see the Senators split into two squads to compete head-to-head in various skill events including the Gay-Lea puck control relay, the fastest skater, the Freedom 55 hardest shot, the CAA accuracy shooting, the Ashbury College skills challenge and the Sport Chek 3-on-3 competition. Senators alternate captain Chris Neil will lead one team while Senators captain Erik Karlsson will lead the other.
On behalf of Sport Chek, the Senators will donate this year’s net proceeds to the Ottawa Senators Foundation in support of the Sens RINK project and the NHLPA Goals and Dreams Fund.
Twelve (12) minor hockey skaters and two goaltenders from the National Capital Region will participate alongside the Senators in each event. The 14 competitors will be chosen through the Senators Junior Skills Challenge, which is presented by Canadian Tire.
Hosted in association with TSN 1200, tickets for Sens Skills presented by Sport Chek are $12.50, $15 and $20. Tickets to this year’s Sens Skills event go on sale on Friday, Nov. 18, at 11 a.m. and can be purchased by visiting www.Ticketmaster.ca, www.canadiantirecentre.com, by phone at 1-877-788-FANS; in person at each of the 10 participating Canadian Tire stores in Ottawa as well as the store in Perth, The Sens Store at Carlingwood Mall and Place d’Orléans, Algonquin College, Superior Photo and at the Canadian Tire Centre box office.
Over the past seven years, more than 120,000 fans have attended Sens Skills presented by Sport Chek with the Senators and the NHLPA donating more than $650,000 to local charities on behalf of their partners.
